- Morpheus Enhance (featuring MORPHEUS8)
When we age, our skin begins to lose elasticity, with wrinkles, lines, and sagging starting to become visible.
Morpheus Enhance is a minimally invasive treatment designed to help you reduce the first signs of ageing and combines radiofrequency energy, micro-needling and a PRP treatment.
What is Morpheus Enhance?
Morpheus Enhance is a non-surgical advanced technology combining the power of MORPHEUS8 radio-frequency energy with adjustable depth micro-needling and PRP (platelet-rich plasma) treatment to address a variety of skincare concerns.
Using radiofrequency combined with PRP, the Morpheus Enhance treatment speeds up cell turnover for deep skin rejuvenation. It also stimulates deep collagen production to tighten and smooth fine lines and wrinkles on the face.

Frequently asked questions about Morpheus Enhance Treatments
What is Morpheus8?
MORPHEUS8™ is non-surgical advanced technology combining the power of radio-frequency energy with adjustable depth micro-needling to address a variety of skincare problems. When we age, our skin begins to lose elasticity, with wrinkles, lines, and sagging starting to become visible. Using radio-frequency, a MORPHEUS8™ treatment stimulates collagen production to tighten and smooth wrinkles on the face and body.
MORPHEUS8™ comfortably penetrates the skin at a deeper level than other micro-needling treatments, transforming your complexion and restoring more youthful skin. It is the only treatment that can mold fat under the skin to obtain optimal results. Contouring and refining the subdermal layers will enable a more detailed approach to sculpt the face naturally.

How is a Morpheus Enhance Performed?
Step 1:
The area to be treated will be cleansed using an antibacterial wash followed by an alcohol wipe. Topical anaesthetic may be applied to the treatment area and will remain on the skin for 30-45 minutes before numbing of the skin will occur. Once the topical anaesthetic is removed, the treatment begins.
Step 2:
Blood collection: Your own (autologous) blood is drawn, just like when you take blood for tests at the doctor. The site of the venesection is usually a large vein in your elbow and up to about 20 ml of blood is collected.
Step 3:
Centrifuge: The blood is then spun in a centrifuge to separate the red and white blood cells from the platelet containing plasma; this procedure takes about 10 minutes. The platelet-rich plasma is then harvested. Using your own blood ensures no risk of contamination or risk of transmittable diseases.
Step 4:
RF treatment: The Morpheus8 handpiece is used to stamp and cover the full treatment area, while stamping, a fractional radio-frequency current is passed through the handpiece. You may experience muscle twitching in the treatment which often feels like a quick rubber band snap sensation.
Step 5:
Injection: The platelet-rich plasma is superficially injected into the skin.
Once the platelet-rich plasma is injected into the skin, the platelets release powerful growth factors (chemical messengers) that activate fibroblasts located within the skin. Over time, these fibroblasts will start to produce collagen, as well as glycosaminoglycans such as Hyaluronic Acid to rejuvenate the skin.
Step 6:
The treatment will end with a Dermalux LED light therapy mask. The light energy triggers your body’s natural cell processes to accelerate rejuvenation and repair of the skin.
How long does it take to perform a Morpheus Enhance procedure?
Typically, you will only need 45 – 60 minutes to complete the process of treatment. You will arrive 30min before the time and will be discharged 30 – 60mins after the treatment.
How long do results from Morpheus Enhance last?
After commencing with treatments, continued improvement of the results will be visible for up to 6 months after the third or fourth treatment. While the results are permanent, maintenance treatments are recommended to continue with skin rejuvenation.

Morpheus Enhance: Before and After
We are passionate about educating our clients on safe, results-driven treatments and we, therefore, design each client’s Aesthetic Couture Treatment Plan individually to deliver optimal results.
To achieve this, we start with a computerised VISIA Skin Care Analysis that objectively measures and maps your skin followed by a detailed consultation with your Skincare Specialist during which specific concerns are highlighted and discussed.
What to do before Morpheus Enhance treatment
- Avoid any strong at-home facial treatments and/or exfoliation treatments the week prior to your appointment.
- Avoid sun exposure (including tanning) for five days prior to your treatment.
- Know the skincare products you are using at home, bring a list, as having these details will assist your skincare specialist to make suitable product recommendations.
- Advise your treating Specialist regarding any medications, medical conditions, and/or past skin conditions; even over-the-counter medications can affect your skin, so it is good for us to know what may be contributing to your concerns as well as how your skin reacts to certain products.
- Should you be preparing your skin for a big event and you have never had a skin care treatment before and therefore don’t know how your skin will respond, it is recommended that you schedule an appointment six weeks before your big even with a follow-up appointment closer to the event date. This way you have time to address any negative skin reactions and get the maximum results from your treatment(s).
- Be prepared to discuss your skin concerns and goals. Your Skincare Specialist is a licensed expert who will provide you with a detailed plan to best achieve your specific goals.
- We advise against any aesthetic procedures (including Botulinum Toxin, Facial Fillers and Threads) 2 weeks prior to and 2 weeks after any minimally invasive skin care treatment.
Please contact us to find out our specific requirements before undergoing Morpheus Enhance at Dr Nerina Wilkinson + Associates.
After Morpheus Enhance

- Apply the provided home care treatment as per your Skin Specialist’s instructions.
- Avoid the sun for 48 hours post-procedure.
- Continue to apply SPF 50 sunscreen daily.
- Avoid taking any inflammatory medicines for at least 2 weeks post-procedure; this allows for optimal collagen formation.
What are the possible risks and complications associated with Morpheus Enhance?
Morpheus Enhance: Side Effects, Risks & Complications
When your treating specialist performs this treatment in a sterile medical environment the risks diminish significantly. Morpheus Enhance treatment can be safely performed on all Fitzpatrick skin types.
If prone to fever blisters it is possible to experience a fever blister break out after skin pricks due to inflammation in the skin. It is important to inform your treating specialist if you have a history of fever blisters, as a fever blister medication needs to be started 3 days prior to the treatment to prevent HZ activation.
Rare adverse effects such as severe post-treatment erythema, sterile pustules, post inflammatory hyperpigmentation, severe skin peeling, and crusting can be evident. Prolonged photosensitisation of the skin and severe erythema have been reported up to 14 days post-treatment. While the majority of people do not experience these complications, it is important to be aware of these risks and discuss them with your treating Specialist in advance.
Swelling, redness and bruising is expected but will settle within 24 hours. Arnica, either as a topical cream or in tablet form, will help heal the bruising. Should you experience any signs of infection in the treated area within 24 hours, please contact your treating Specialist immediately.
Your Aesthetic Doctor can provide more insight into any additional side effects, and address any concerns you may have. Contact us to find out more.
Are there alternative procedures to Morpheus Enhance Treatments?
Choosing either Morpheus Enhance or Medical Morpheus8 will completely depend on your skin type, concern, and goals.
Morpheus8 is a higher intensity alternative treatment that makes use of the power of radio frequency energy and in-depth micro-needling without PRP injections. Whereas Morpheus Enhance includes a radio frequency treatment, PRP injections and Dermalux LED light therapy.
