The Erbium iPIXEL Pro is one of Harmony XL Pro’s most popular treatments. It is a fractional ablative laser treatment that resurfaces the skin and targets concerns such as skin texture and pigmentation/sun damage.

It is highly effective for treating wrinkles, age spots, acne scars, large pores, and rough skin texture by stimulating collagen renewal for a refreshed rejuvenated look.

The fractional ablative laser treatment delivers precise beams of energy in a pixel-size formation to target specific cells. The heat from the energy destroys the injured or damaged cells and stimulates collagen production to remodel and fill the treated area with new healthy cells.

This non-surgical laser treatment can be used on the face, neck, décolletage, and hands to rejuvenate, smoothen, and firm the skin.

The iPIXEL laser treatment by Harmony XL Pro can help reduce the appearance of sun damage, rough or uneven skin texture, fine and deep lines and wrinkles, stretch marks, and scarring of the face, neck, décolletage, and hands, leaving a smoother, more rejuvenated appearance.

The iPIXEL skin resurfacing treatment will leave your skin looking radiant and revitalised. For the best results, we recommend a course of 5 treatments, once every 4 – 6 weeks. We might also recommend a monthly treatment to maintain healthy, glowing skin and to combat the signs of ageing.

Combining treatments are highly recommended to help achieve optimal results, your Skincare Specialist might therefore either combine various technologies available on the Harmony XL Pro system or combine it with other treatment modalities.

You will, however, receive a detailed skincare plan with the recommended treatments after your first consultation.

Results from Erbium iPIXEL treatments last indefinitely with regular maintenance treatments.

We recommend a monthly treatment to maintain healthy, glowing skin and to combat the signs of aging. For the best results, we recommend a course of 5 treatments, once every 4 – 6 weeks.

Erbium iPIXEL Pro treatment time can vary between 60 – 120 minutes.

Swelling and redness will be visible but will subside within 5 – 7 days. Occasionally small grid-like scabs may appear and should not last longer than 10 – 14 days.

You will however receive a box of post-treatment home care product minis and instructions on how to use these products in the days following your treatment.

Discomfort with the iPIXEL treatments is minimal due to the application of a topical numbing agent that is applied in advance of the treatment.

Erbium iPIXEL Pro treatment costs start at R 5 200 per treatment.

You will be quoted accordingly during your first consultation. The cost includes a bespoke aftercare pack consisting of relevant product minis to aid the recovery of your skin post-treatment.

For the best results, we recommend a course of 5 treatments spaced 4 – 6 weeks apart.

When a qualified Skincare Specialist performs an Erbium iPIXEL Pro treatment in a sterile medical environment the risks diminish significantly.

Possible side effects of an iPIXEL laser treatment can however include swelling and redness that will be visible but that will subside within 5 – 7 days. Occasionally small grid-like scabs may appear and should not last longer than 10- 14 days.

What to do before an iPIXEL treatment

1. Avoid any strong at-home facial treatments and/or exfoliation treatments the week prior to your appointment
2. Avoid sun exposure (including tanning) for five days prior to your treatment
3. Know the skincare products you are using at home, and bring a list, as having these details will assist your Skincare Specialist to make suitable product recommendations
4. Advise your Skincare Specialist regarding any medications, medical conditions, and/or past skin conditions; even over-the-counter medications can affect your skin, so it is good for us to know what may be contributing to your concerns as well as how your skin reacts to certain products
5. Should you be preparing your skin for a big event, and you have never had a skin care treatment before and therefore don’t know how your skin will respond, it is recommended that you schedule an appointment four weeks before your big event with a follow-up appointment closer to the event date. This way you have time to address any negative skin reactions and get the maximum results from your treatment(s)
6. Be prepared to discuss your skin concerns and goals. Your Skincare Specialist is a licensed expert who will provide you with a detailed plan to best achieve your specific goals
7. We advise against any Aesthetic procedures (including Botulinum Toxin, Facial Fillers, and Threads) 2 weeks prior to and 2 weeks after any minimally invasive skin care treatment

On the day: iPIXEL treatment

Should this be your first treatment at the Skin Clinic, you will be required to complete a short medical questionnaire to help guide your Skincare Specialist in selecting the most suitable treatment protocol for you. Your Skincare Specialist will require access to your face, neck, and shoulders, therefore requiring you to get changed into a robe prior to the treatment.

The treatment will include:

• Cleansing
• Numbing agent application (30 minutes)
• IPixel skin resurfacing treatment
• Crystal fibre mask application
• Application of moisturiser and SPF

After an Erbium iPIXEL treatment

What aftercare advice and products should I follow/use?

Your Skincare Specialist will advise on a suitable skincare regime to support results:

• An SPF 50 should be applied twice daily
• Avoid facial waxing for 21 days post-treatment
• Limit sun exposure for 14 days post-treatment
• It is advised to avoid vigorous exercise for 7 days post-treatment
• We advise against any Aesthetic procedures (including Botulinum Toxin, Facial Fillers, and Threads) for 2 weeks before any skin care treatment, and for 3 – 6 weeks after the IPixel Skin Resurfacing treatment
