Skin Nutrition with Mesotherapy

Skin Nutrition with Mesotherapy

There are so many different skincare concerns and treatments to choose from to aid in the improvement thereof, but don’t we all at some point wish we could just give our skin a big sip of water? We all experience dehydration, but over and above this – also fine lines and wrinkles, poor complexion and skin tone. Mesotherapy targets AL of the above (and more)…

What is Mesotherapy?

Mesotherapy is a minimally invasive technique using small injections to introduce active ingredients into the different layers of the skin, in order to stimulate, feed and regenerate the skin without the damage or trauma that most cosmetic procedures require to activate skin rejuvenation. The beauty of Mesotherapy is that we can create bespoke skin nutritional cocktails that target a variety of specific skin conditions with!

Pigmentation including sun damage, melasma, poor texture, dehydration, acne, scarring and all other aging concerns are some of the common skin conditions in need of (and which have been successfully treated with) a nutritional bespoke skin cocktail.

We also use a variety of Mesotherapy techniques to deliver the “cocktails exactly where needed. Here are the different Mesotherapy techniques we use at Dr Nerina Wilkinson + Associates:

  1. Nappage is the most used technique in mesotherapy and targets the superficial layer in the skin called the epidermis with minimal to no discomfort. Our MesoGlow, Forma HydraLyft and 3D Bespoke treatments are some of our most popular signature treatments combining various other skin modalities with mesotherapy for optimal results.

  1. Dermal Papules are done by using very short, fine needles to inject actives into the dermis with a point-by-point technique to enhance the cellular function in the deeper layers of the skin. This is where all the activities for cell renewal and collagen stimulation takes place. When we can directly infuse the skin with these nutrients, they are immediately stimulating the skin’s natural processes. We use this technique in a full mesotherapy treatment and our signature 3D MD PRP treatment where your body’s own platelet rich growth factors are injected. This treatment is also combined with medical skin needling to enhance results.

  1. Medical Mesotherapy (Skin Boosters) is a more advanced and targeted Mesotherapy treatment administered by a medical Doctor; here you may experience mild to moderate discomfort. Not to worry – we apply a topical anaesthetic cream to ensure a comfortable experience.

What to expect after your Mesotherapy procedure?

Once the area has been treated the solution is rubbed into the skin and it is recommended to only wash the face the following morning to allow the solution to penetrate fully. SPF should also not be applied for 45min post treatment.
